Therefore, they end up not believing and then really screwing up with the faith. For example, the commericialization of Christmas. We should reshape the way we view God and ask the question, "What can I do for God?" |
| ?Q? - Posted: December 21, 2003 Faith: was a christian believer for many years until all the faith and promises i believed in as gods words failed to materialize when needed, then i had to go on the asumption, it's just a story handed down through time, giving the people an excuse to go give each other gifts and get drunk together, party, have fun, get paid to be off work, get bonus money from an employer for nothing, preachers showing so much more need and drawing in the fool to give, give and give extra. where is the gift to the birthday boy? i gave up on all that celebration stuff, it's all phoney greed. no one, not one christian i know, and that being many, ever bring a gift to god, only to their friends and family, i never see anyone placing a gift under the tree for god, or jesus, and better yet, if you do, has he ever came by and took the gift you gave him? it's all just a bunch of give and take, fun and partying, not just the drunks, but the holy rollers as well. show me some proof. when i thought for sure i would see the word appear to do what is promised, it did not, thereby i no longer celebrate, believe in miracles, and religions have driven what faith i had, out. merry gift giving and happy wishes you'll get even more next time around. |

| ?Q? - Posted: December 16, 2003 Faith: so, what you all getting god for his birthday? oh, nothing, bet your getting a lot of gifts just like it was your birthday instead of his. hummm, now how does this figure, call it a celebration of a saviour but get all the gifts for your kids and your friends and go eat like pigs while there are children starving in your own town. this christmas stuff just don't make no sense at all! |

If I want to get all "Plato-esq" here, there's the possibility that it's the PERSON who is at fault and not the FAITH/RELIGION, but then again, without "seekers" we would have no religious diversity. just my opinion. |

Tell the people what they want to hear, tingle their ears with how good they are and you will have a house full. The Churches that preach the truth (JESUS) will suffer because no one likes for their sins to be brought out. I believe this is what is wrong with America today NO ONE wants to hear the truth. |
| ??? - Posted: December 04, 2003 Faith: note, why does no one have an answer when a reality question is asked or statement made? i noticed that there is yet another so called christian (ragazine) mag coming to athens. i saw on the news where the female youth now have their own bible telling them how to apply clown makeup, and that all the religious fanatical, money grubbing godless bible thumping national book selling hypocrits are on the news bragging about how much money they are making selling this trash mag. yeah, god, right! |
| ??? - Posted: December 03, 2003 Faith: when one has faith in his employer that he will work 40 hours and is promised a paycheck at the end of that week and then when the time comes and there is no paycheck, do you go back, in faith and work week after week, praying for that paycheck, yet never seeing it, or do you say, this faith thing is starving me to death, i'd better get smart and go find a job with a real paycheck instead of continuing to believe that something is going to happen, and it never does. can you answer honestly that you'll continue working for a boss who never pays, i think not! |

I believe that we all don't have enough faith in GOD. You said that you asked GOD for help and belived he would. I believe that GOD has two wills a permissive will and a devine will. If it is his devine will then things will happen. If it is his permissive will then he will let you fall so that he can pick you up with the great love that only GOD has for ALL mankind. I didn't start off as a child walking on my own, and I had as a child to keep trying to walk. If I had given up everytime I fell then I would had never knew how to walk on my own. In short we MUST BELIEVE IN GOD AND KEEP THE FAITH NO MATTER WHAT COMES OUR WAY!!! Faith as anything must be praticed everyday of our lives. I know that it is hard but we must lift each other up in prayer EVERYDAY!! |
| ??? - Posted: December 02, 2003 Faith: keith, if there is a one percent chance the machine can misread, then how could you claim a miracle? it would be a false statement against god to claim he did something when he didn't, would it not! now if the doc puts dye into the heart and you can clearly see the valve is clogged, they plan to do surgery in the morning and when they look, there is no blockage, then my friend, you have a miracle. but when a machine makes it's mistake, then you would be claiming a false prophecy to call it a miracle. i believed for half a century and when the time came i was 100 percent suire of a miracle, according to the directions and instructions of the bible, it failed, the miracle didn't happen as it is taught. sorry, i don't mean to take away your joy, if you want to believe it is a miracle, then have at it, but i prefer that if god is going to perform a miracle, i don't want any room for doubt, i want to know it for fact, not a 99 percent chance that is what it was. i am only saying that religious fanatics throw the word miracle around way too much, therefore youhave to admit, according to the teachings in the bible, you will know when a miracle occurs, without any doubt. i don't like this condition i am living under right now, i have lost all faith in miracles and for someone who has been a believer for this long, that is a scary and freightening feeling to not know anymore. it's as if you had hope and all of a sudden, you have nothing to look forward to, no hope, no faith, like,,,,,maybe life is just life and when it's over and you die, there is nothing else. guess you had to be there. |
| Keith - Posted: December 01, 2003 Faith: IN JESUS My heart DR said that he has not seen but very few people beat the machine in his pratice and he told me that he didn't understand why when I took the test that it showed up like it did. He told me the machine he uses is in the high 90% correct and few people have beaten the test equiptment. I used more than one machine with all saying the samething. YES I'LL GIVE GOD THE CREDIT!!!!! That is what is wrong with the whole world today we look at things from a seinatiffic point of view trying to say that there is no GOD. That is why America is having troubles today GOD has been left out of everything, even out childrens life. In Kansas it is taught that in public schools that it is ok to be with the same sex and that is normal and there is nothing inmoral about it at all. This is a mandatory coarse that every student MUST take to get out of school and pass. GOD gives me life every day. We are the land of plenty and have sat back saying nothing because we might offend someone. GOD is the same yesterday today and forever. It is man that has changed not GOD!!!! You proved that in your last statement. |
