History Buff -  Posted: September 26, 2009 "Great Society"... hmmm, now when did I hear that? ... Wait, don't tell me, let me think. ........... Oh, yeah, I remember now! It was President "big ears" Johnson back in the Sixties when he, like Obama, embarked on huuuuuuge social spending programs while at the same time fighting an unpopular war. Johnson's runaway federal spending on guns and butter set the stage for some of the virulent inflation of the Seventies and Eighties. Obama's spending will do likewise. We will once again have double dight inflation, only this time it will be worse. My personal estimate is in the low to mid twenties. The United States is definitely going down economically, and Obama has the wheel. .... No doubt Redd is riding shotgun. :-) |

That’s called socialism.”I agree with Kiyosaki: If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, then .... Of course, Redd would probably disagree. He would likely argue that the eeeeeeeevil "GOP hate/lie machine" that is trying to make look like a duck Obama's plans for a Great Society II . |

All of you ladies ought to tune in to the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) semifinals and finals this weekend. A minor obstacle is that none of the networks is likely (not even ESPN) to air the games. You will have to go to www.wnba.com and click on wnba live access, where you can watch the games live online. They also have archives of games past to view -- and it is free! In last night's game our former Lady Vols sensation, Candace Parker, scored 24 points and snagged 18 rebounds. ... A great game! In tonight's Western Conference final the LA Sparks play the deciding game game against the Phoenix Mercury. It may be your last chance to see play the great WNBA ledgend, Lisa Leslie, who will retire after this season. She is one of only three or four remaining original WNBA players, and argubly still the overall greatest. |

It was especially troubling to hear a religious song being sung with the name of Obama substituted for the name of Jesus! Can you even imagine the outcry that would have ensued if Mr Bush, Mr Clinton or even Mr Reagan had been glorified in song by small school children? Not even FDR, the socialists' socialist dared try that one! |

The only citizens who get back ground checked and jump through State Hoops to prove they are good apples are not allowed into your parks. And just when Etowah was doing so good at attracting new business...no, wait! They can't even keep the businesses they have! Well, Athens must have new business...no, all the industries around Athens are slowing down & cutting back. Hmmm...your progressive, anti-gun movement isn't doing so well, is it? As for me, I still spend my hard eaned dollars in other counties that aren't afraid of my big ole' gun! Keep it up - maybe the whole county can fail! |
