As to the health care "problem," the problem is Medicare and Medicaid. Never has paid it's fair share of the patient's health care, never will. The .gov folks came to the docs & hospitals in the '60's and said, we know you can't survive on what we pay you, so you may charge OTHER patients up to three times your costs (ever wonder where the $2.00 aspirin came from? Now you know.) Hospitals have a huge overhead and really had no choice. They were forced to charge all the other patients more for services just to survive. The .gov looked at what it had created, and said, "Hmmm. You hospitals and doctors are making a slight profit. So now we will pay you EVEN LESS." So, as hospitals struggled, patients and families said, "if you don't have the latest MRI, CT Scan and / or the latest greatest diagnostic toy, why, we will just go to Knoxvegas for our care!" And the community said,"Your rooms don't look like a hotel & your food is not the greay stuff we are used to. Why, we'll just go to a bigger town to be admiited to a more expensive hospital." And the local, rural hospitals struggled every day, just to meet the needs of the community. And the .gov people looked at the mess they had created, realized it was a nightmare, and said, " You must take care of every person who comes to your hospital, even illegal- er, undocumented aliens. And you must provide every service they need, even if you never get reimbursed for the care. By the way, we're going to decrease wehat we pay you." And the Insurance companies looked at the hell the .gov had created and said,"Oh wow! We will pay you less also!" And the hospitals still struggle. Then the State of Tennessee said, " Hey, we don't want to really take care of citizens, we just want to get our good old boys & girls re-elected." And so, TennCare was born. And the docs & hiospitals made less money. And the politicians, insurance companies and .gov lackeys got rich. And the docs & hospitals got blamed for the health care mess. Don't even get me started on the lawyers who suck the very life out of hospitals & docs. So, now you know. Interesting tidbit: the most regulated industry in the worls is the nuclear industry. Second most regulated? Healthcare. If you don't like healthcare, blame the politicians & lawyers.

Ted Kennedy's death is George Bush's fault. ... So is His Highness Obama's low approval rating (45%). ... You would think things might get better now that the devil Bush is gone.

I am with you MERCENARY. I never shop at those no-gun stores. Also, I did not attend the regional fair either, for the same reason.

People who do not respect my constitutional rights will get no business from me -- period!

Well, I kept my word. Did not go to the Regional Fair, since I couldn't be safe. Shopped in Cleveland at stores that did not have no gun signs.

In addition to fixing health-care costs, I wish someone would fix our air transportation system -- especially Atlanta. The old saying of having to go through Atlanta to get to Hell is true. ... Only good thing about that is you would be delayed in Atlanta and postpone your arrival. :-)

If McMinn County is as conservative as people claim, why is the Athens City Council composed of four big-time liberals and one small-time liberal -- no true conservatives? Is it that the folks who vote in city elections are left-liberal democrats, and all the conservatives live in the county?

Please answer soonest, for Inquiring Minds Want To Know.

My girlfriend just admonished me for not giving you the answer. Excuse me, but I just figured the answer was obvious. But just in case there some democrats out there who are clueless, here is the answer:

Highlight between the arrows ---> d. Shep is more left liberal <--- for the answer.

Fact: Fox cable news trounces all the other cable news newworks. Even Fox's lowest-rated show hosted by Shepard Smith beats all the other networks. But why is Shep Smith the lowest rated of all the Fox Cable News shows?
  1. Shep is not as handsome as the other men, especially O'Rielly.
  2. Shep is not as pretty as Greta Van Sustren.
  3. Shep is the youngest, but Fox's viewers are older.
  4. Shepard Smith is the most left-leaning and the most liberal of all of Fox's news persons.

WorldNetDaily.com has some great articles on how the government is dictating the way we raise our children, to include education as well as religion.

Weep for our lost liberties, because we shall never see them again.

TTSI, 10-04. We would all be safer if governments were disarmed.

WILD WILLIE, take WUMBY's advice. The truth is the truth. In my opinion, those who prefess to be defenders of freedom and liberty are charlatins if they mourn the passing of a tyrant.

What's going on with the Bellsouth(AT&T) internet outage? My internet service has been out for a week now, and every time I call Bellsouth(AT&T) for an answer they say that they are having network outage and that they have no idea when it's going to be restored. It's getting ridiculous.I had to sign on with a different internet provider just to get online, when I'm already paying for service from Bellsouth. Frankly, this is the worst service issue that I've ever encountered. Even "two-bit" companies can keep their networks running better than this. Is anybody else suffering this issue?
