Economic stimulus package:
1. A massive transfer of wealth from the productive to the parasitic classes (bankers, the politically connected, etc).
2. A means by which a nation is looted just prior to it's final collapse.

TTSI - This may be your best post ever! How true to life are your definitons!! Funny how corporations are always assisting lawmakers. Bush had major ties to several corporations, and now Mr Obama seems to be in bed with General Electric and Time Warner. As you aptly pointed out last year, republican or democrat, they are all out to screw the rest of the country.

Town Hall Meeting: A staged event whose audience is limited to carefully-selected sycophants (who ask such challenging questions as "How can we help ?"), and whose intent is give the false impression that "the people" have some say in a pre-determined outcome

Thank you,Thomas. I should have been more clear in my post. He was speaking of government health care deciding to not provide end of life care. I think everyone agrees that the patient and their family have every right to decide to accept or reject any treament modality they see fit. I was referencing some mindless bureaucrat deciding end of life treatment for others. Perhaps when the President and Congress get the same health care as the rest of us, I will be more inclined to care what they think. No - I take that back - I couldn't care less what the Congress or the President think about anything. My only goal is that they leave me alone and keep their socialist agenda.

Mercenary, most facilities are already doing this, it's called palliative care and hospice care and it most often is a choice of the patient and their family. That is why no one has called his hand on that one.

Hello, TTSI! In his ABC infomercial, did you note Mr Obamamessiah suggested that we do not treat people in end of life situations? No treatment, just maybe some pain medication, to save money. I cannot believe no one has called his hand on that one! Reminds me a bit of Mr Hitler in 1930's Germany, when he started down that slippery slope that eventually became the holocaust. I'm just sayin', this President has plans we may not care for, and Health Care is only the second step in his unholy trinity to transform the US into a third world country.

Dear DPA : As Ronald Reagan once famously said, "There you go again!" There is no tax thet you do not love and no loosening of gun restrictions that you do not hate. The head line story about "guns in bars" is yellow journalism at it's best. Presently, Sober citizens with Carry Permits cannot legally carry their weapons into eating establishments that serve alcohol. This new law simply allows me to carry my weapon in to Appleby's or Tony's or Las Margaritas. The bad guys are ALREADY carrying weapons in bars, and always have. If a restaraunt does not want to have firearms in their business, all they need to do is post "No Firearms / Weapons Allowed" signs. That is their right. Most of us WON'T spend money there, but that is our right. And that, children, is how a free republic operates. As for the DPA, the continual skewing of stories has taken it's toll and they are slowly dying - as is the fate of all yellow journalism eventually. They can join CNN, MSNBC & newspapers all over country in the trash bin of history. Sadly, there are still a few intelligent who people believe the rubbish these old media outlets keep putting out.

A MESSAGE FOR ALL U.S. POLITICIANS:

Given your actions of the last 150 years or so, it appears
that you need to be reminded of your proper role:

1) You are a SERVANT, not a "leader".

2) Your job is explicitly defined (and LIMITED) by the the USC.
If you recall, that's the document that you swore to "protect and defend".
Try reading it some time.

3) Your job is NOT to help me, encourage me, "stimulate" me, send me the "right message", or "raise my awareness".

4) Your job is NOT to worry about what I think, say, read, watch, own, love, hate, or consume.
Rather, your job is to DEFEND my right to engage in ANY peaceful activities that I damn well please.
btw, that's what we call "freedom" (some still think it would be a good idea).

5) Your job is NOT to "police the world".
And if you want to fight terrorism, then STOP SUPPORTING IT.

6) The U.S. govt and the "country" are NOT one in the same.
And take care when you encourage people to "fight for their country".
For if/when they finally decide to do so, they'll be coming for YOU.
