TTSI - Posted: February 26, 2009 Your education re lincoln is impressive (and all-too rare). He literally destroyed the Republic. It was all downhill from there. |
mercenary - Posted: February 26, 2009 me thinks you are correct, oh noble Knight. It seems the government is absolutely determined to force another fight over States rights VS the Federal Government's rights. There is no bogus issue to grab on to this go around. i mean, seriously, Lincoln freed the slaves in THE SOUTH, where he had no legal authority! He NEVER freed slaves in the North! The Emancipation Proclamation was a political move to defuse his critics, many of whom believed in slavery and hated "Mr Lincoln's War." Wait - there may be a slavery angle; seems the Feds want the citizens of this country enslaved to them. Secession is probably inevitable at this point. I suspect Texas will lead the way. I'm in! |
TTSI - Posted: February 25, 2009 No problem "being honest" (with myself), as i have longed for the fall of the USG for years :-). And it looks like my wish will soon be granted. |
mercenary - Posted: February 24, 2009 TTSI - I haven't noticed either party doing anything for the common citizen in a LONG time. They cater to their"bases", whatever that may be. Regardless, as sson as the election is over, they all still steal our money and our freedom. Be honest; if some horrible natural tragedy caused Washington DC to disappear suddenly, taking all Federal oficers and management away, would the whole country not be better off? I am NOT convinced that Mr Lincoln did the right thing holding the country together. Maybe it is not too late to separate into 2 or even 3 different countries. I do not want to pay for this bloated pig called a government, who then only works harder to restrict my freedoms and direct my life. Call it socialism, call it fascism, call it anything you want - I would like to not be involved with those corrupt, evil creatures we call politicians. One minute they want to set a speed limit - next thing you know, they are setting Federal standards on how much water my toilet can flush! What's next - food and thought police? Oh, wait, Ms Pelosi and Mr Reed ALREADY want to regulate what I can eat, where I can go and even what I can do with my own property and money. I strongly suspect that many ( if not all) politicians will have a really tough time trying to get into heaven. |
Will T - Posted: February 19, 2009 THE USE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN... I am writing in the use of the word "African American" when talking about the President. He is NOT African American. To be African American, he would have been born in Africa. He's the first black American President. I have Irish roots...7 generations back. Does that make me Irish American? I don't believe cause one's black makes them African American, just like me, I'm not Irish American. I sent that text to a local news station. |
TTSI - Posted: February 17, 2009 I see little difference btw a socialist president and one who only implements it ! His psychiatrist (and party stooges) might consider this important, but not I. btw, none of these soulless ghouls have a "philosophy" (other than an endless lust for power). But they frequently pretend to believe in something in order to convince the gullible masses to vote for them. |
mercenary - Posted: February 16, 2009 I didn't say his policies weren't socialist, just that he was not a socialist. He ruled as a left wing Democrat, IMHO. His policies were to the left of hubert Humphrey in 1968. Mr Obama has worked hard to bring marxism to fruition in America his entire career. I suspect Mr Bush was chemically impaired for large sections of his life. He even suspended capitalism! Guess it's not that great of a leap if you havce no core values or beliefs. I will give mr Obama the benefit of the doubt, and hope and pray that he is a better President than Mr Bush. Probably won't be too hard...! But to answer you, yes it is socialism no matter who does it. I am not convinced Mr Bush understood the difference, but anyway... |
TTSI - Posted: February 16, 2009 Socialism ? You mean like the "No Child Left Alone" and prescription drug programs (just to name a few). Oh, I understand: It's "socialism" only when a democrat does it. |
Mercenary - Posted: February 15, 2009 Have to disagree with your assessment there, my friend. However catastrophic a President Mr Bush mught have been, he was not a socialist. Big spending liberal democrat is the way I would characterize Mr Bush's leadership. Mr Obama is undoubtedly a socialist, and may even tip over to the camp of full blown communism. I don't know yet, I'll have to see how he governs. His past actions and lawyering skills have been to promote the communist agenda, but I truly believe we should wait and see how he governs. If the "emergency" spending bill ( read democrat liberal wish list )is any indication, we may be in deep trouble. I say "we" reflexively, but in reality I have nothing in common with the vast majority of sheeple out there. |
