cc - Posted: December 20, 2008 mercenary; watch the movie "solid gold cadillac." it's an old movie but very pointed! while we are the subject of movies; also watch "to kill a mockingbird" ,"mr.smith goes to washington", and "twelve angry men". reports due monday. no excuse |
cc - Posted: December 20, 2008 mercenary; you miss the point altogether!! don't blame the worker. blame the stupid, arrogant ceo's and board of directors, who get huge bonuses and other perks, but who hasn't worked a shift!! please get off the working man's back just because he has made some progress at his work place.. the gwb plan to divide and conquer seems to be on track. Quote of the day "If crime showed in a man's face; there would be no mirror's." from the movie "we're no angels" |
R&R - Posted: December 20, 2008 Merc: Did you know/ see where the workers who are laid off for the next months shutdown (Chrysler) get to draw 95% of their base pay? All compliments of the bailout. Spending money and producing nothing. Gee, I wonder why the bottom line looks terrible? |
mercenary - Posted: December 18, 2008 I got so worked up I couldn't even type correctly! That last line SHOULD say: "Sorry about the shouting, but they're stealing money from me and you for these poorly run companies." |
mercenary - Posted: December 18, 2008 You know, I'm kinda proud of ole Corker. If the unions hate him, he HAS to be doing something right. By heaven, give ME $75 hour in pay and benefits and I'll build you cars that will last and have decent quality. These proposed bailouts are STUPID. Let the big three go into Chapter 11 and KICK OUT THOSE STUPID UNIONS. HEY BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS: There are a LOT of hard workers in the South who'll take those jobs for $35 hour and do the auto makers proud.Sorry about the shouting. But there stealing money from me and you for thses poorly run companies. |
SALLY - Posted: December 06, 2008 Where is everybody? Too much turkey last week? |
TTSI - Posted: November 24, 2008 They can (and probably will) lash out all they want - that is until the run out of gas (which will probably happen within a few short weeks). Same with their fancy gadgets and weaponry (which will soon fail, due to dead batteries and lack of spare parts). Then they will shed their uniforms and attempt to blend in with real people. But as Star Trek's Dr Spock said :-): "It's easier for a civilized man to act like a barbarian, than for a barbarian to act live a civilized man". |
mercenary - Posted: November 23, 2008 Careful what you wish for, Ricky. An injured animal is often FAR more dangerous than one preoccupied with itself. I agree that the .Gov and the Fed Reserve NEED to be taken down a notch (or more! ), current problems will probably only make the .Gov lash out at us and bite or maul us in it's wounded state. It is an unsustainable system, but it will not go quickly, quietly or any time soon. |
Ricky - Posted: November 20, 2008 if this crash takes out both the USG *and* the Federal Reserve, it will get two birds stoned at once. |
Julian - Posted: November 19, 2008 If there was ever any doubt in your mind that the gov't, banks, and big business are "partners in crime", then the actions seen over the last few months should have eliminated any of that doubt. |
