Well now, they took that bailout money that they told us was so urgent to save the economy, and are buying stocks with it. I guess it wasn't so urgently needed after all, was it? Just another way to fleece the working people out of their money with more lies. And give it to the rich bankers.

Julian - Most truly wise Americans ask the government only to be left alone! Unfortunately, far too many people asked the gov't for things - and when they got a little, they started asking for more. Now we have a couple of generations who believe that the government is a business that is supposed to take care of them! Honestly, the only thing government ever gave me that I wanted was my honorable dischgarge from the army. I want a national security that PROTECTS America-And that is all. Close the borders to stop ILLEGAL aliens. Keep foreign Armies away from our shores. The rest of the world can take care of their own security. Other than that, my State Government ( which is a bit more accountable to its' citizens) will take care of the needs that I or private businesses can't - or won't - do.

What amazes me is that we continually ask the gov't to "fix" things, when it is all too apparent that they are in the business of ruining things.

I have seen parallels btw govt and pro wrestling for years:

1) The opponents pretend to hate each other, but are really on friendly terms.

2) They never land a significantly-damaging blow (unless by mistake).
Example: In a prev presidential debate btw Al Gore and Alan Keyes, Gore referred to our country as a "democracy".
Keyes (who knew better) could have easily devastated Gore by simply pointing out that this is in fact a a republic, and hence Gore was a moron who did not even know what form of govt he would be presiding over.

3) The referee corresponds to the poor constitutionalists: He attempts to get the opponents to follow the rules, but is constantly ignored.

btw, the wrestlers are much better actors.

Well, yes, Bubbles. No one gets to be president unless they are "one worlders" dedicated to one World Wide Governement rule. Don't let it escape you that the average Republican Senator / Congress-person today is about where Hubert Humphrey was in 1968 (Mr Humphrey, Democrat, was considered quite liberal in his day). Mr Obama - just like Mr Bush and Mr Clinton and Mr Bush 1 - will do as he is darn well told. Everyone could have voted for Charlie Brown or even TTSI, but Mr Obama would still have won. It is the cult of personality, my friend. Next election, just like in pro wrestling, the winner will be chosen before the first vote is ever cast.

Just like Bush did.

Obama is simply the latest prop-up puppet to be the "face man" for the powers that really run this country. He isn't going to "run" anything. He's going to read the propaganda speeches that are given to him by his "handlers".

Sorry - I meant to say "that Bush failed to".

REDD: Yes, except for the "ratchet effect": The incoming party never reverses any of the damage of the previous, but instead builds on it. I.E. Obama will seek to destroy what little good is left of this country that Bush to (like a capitalist health-care industry). He will also send many thousands to their deaths in the hopeless quagmire of Afghanistan. Alexander The Great could only hold it for 3 years. These a$$-kissing generals of today can hardly hold their dix.

"Gloom, dispair, and agony on me
Deep dark depression excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, dispair, and agony on me ......"

Quit fighting it. ... Just lie back and enjoy the screwing you're going to get from Obama and crew....
