mercenary -  Posted: November 30, 2009 I am with you, my friend wumby. When confronted by some smart mouth, I always have a terrific retort - about 30 minutes later! And I fear that I would be manipulated and used by those "smart fellers" in Washington ; I'm guessing that's what you mean by the "Dark side." So it needs to be someone smarter than me! I don't know the answer, but party politics just AIN'T CUTTING IT NO MORE. So I say let's fire all the dumb congress critters in there now and put in all new ones! Democrats want to take away my guns and raise my taxes; republicans want to take away my rights and raise my taxes. So let's get somebody with new ideas. |

One who helped me to see the light was our friend TTSI on this very board. Once the hypocrisy and corruption of both parties became clear to me, I renounced party affiliation and started to give all my political donations only to the NRA, GOA and Jews for the preservation of firearms. I realized very quickly that the people who wanted to limit - or take away - my gun rights ALWAYS want control over others, ALWAYS want to increase my taxes and ALWAYS waste money on social engineering and CRAP. These hooligans want to take away not just our Second Amendment rights, but they want to limit the Constitution to ONLY THE PARTS THEY LIKE. Republican, Democrat, Progressive, Communist - makes no difference now. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME and are working for the same goal. |
| Redd - Posted: November 28, 2009 Thank you mercenary for a voice of reason. I have pointed out before that both parties suck and normally that gets me called a liberal. Both parties are corrupt these days and only a clean sweep will help. Once a person gets elected in a blue state or a red state they keep getting elected by name recognition and party affiliation. I don't really care anymore who shot who or who drowned who. Lets face it, we can go back and forth for days over who has committed the most heinous crime or signed the most anti American legislation or molested the most interns or cheated on their wife most(both gay and straight) and we will wind up going nowhere. Until most Americans wake up and realize that their party is just as bad as the other party we are going to continue down this road of self destruction. |

Seems a bit odd to discuss human failures of the past administration with Democrats who are ethically challenged, one who drowned a woman in a car and many others who are far from perfect. I just don't think you get it, sir or madam. The Republicans and the Democrats BOTH suck. Fire them all. Heck, Wumby, maybe you should run for office. In fact, I hope anybody runs for office who has NOT run before. Vote against all incumbents and see if this would not be a better place. |

| Brenda - Posted: November 25, 2009 I suspect most of the rich are dumping assets and trying really hard to get into a lower tax bracket. Of course, that means there will be fewer jobs. Well, except the wealthy Democrats; like much of Mr Obama's cabinet, they don't pay their taxes anyway. |

| Old Nurse - Posted: November 22, 2009 Well, the cowards in the Senate passed the health care destruction act out of committee. Prepare to be taxed beyond your ability to pay. Early number crunching by two independent groups indicate that several hundred hospitals may close. Money to hospitals and providers - nurses, physicians and clinics - will decrease dramatically. Administrative costs (governmental) skyrocket. For a few lucky health care providers, there will be Judas jobs with "the beast," denying health care to fellow citizens and insuring providers conform or go to prison. Many of us will choose to retire; I do not want the mark of the beast on me. |
