| JW - Posted: February 27, 2008 JuJUBee;I myself have been watching that place,and no I don't know yet as to what is going on.BUT!I know one of the boys will tell us.I just wish they would take the bank on the east side out so they would have more parking space.I can recall when Freddy had it and I have backed into that bank!Another oldie;can anyone else besides me remember the "pizza-burgers"they made out there.Man,one of them["Preacher"made them] and about three beers.I was ready for anything.Come on "Freddy"! |

| Concerned Parent - Posted: February 14, 2008 Teachers in our schools have more responsibilities than just "teaching", and I appreciate all the hard work and the extra effort that most of them provide. I would like to make a few comments. My child attends Etowah City School and is in an upper grade. Recently the school had a fund raiser, and the 8th grade homeroom teachers/sponsors were in charge of the collection of money and ordering. I understand that fund raisers are necessary and the process does take time & planning. The part of all of this that I don't understand is that while this is going on, my child is left in the classroom with the other students to watch a video and do meaningless work. I don't know how many times my son has come home and told me that his teacher has assigned "busy work" so she could spend time on the internet searching for information on a class trip to Washington, D.C., e-mailing and texting. I send my son to school for him to learn. I've heard that many of the children who finish Etowah City and head to high school aren't prepared for study in a particular subject in which this teacher oversees and in my opinion, it's no wonder why. |
